Letter Writing: Problems Caused by Unplanned Buildings in the City

Question:

Write a letter to the Editor of a newspaper expressing your views on the problems caused by the mushrooming of unplanned buildings rapidly in the city. Also, suggest some measures to arrest this problem. (WBCS Exam 2019)

Through the columns of your esteemed (প্রশংসিত) newspaper, I would like to draw (আকর্ষণ করতে চাই) attention (মনোযোগ) to the increasing problems caused by the uncontrolled mushrooming (দ্রুত বৃদ্ধি) of unplanned buildings (অপরিকল্পিত ভবন) in our city. This rapid expansion (দ্রুত প্রসার) is severely affecting (মারাত্মকভাবে প্রভাবিত করছে) the infrastructure (পরিকাঠামো) of the city. Unplanned construction (অপরিকল্পিত নির্মাণ) is leading to various issues such as increased traffic congestion (যানজট বৃদ্ধি), reduction (হ্রাস) of green spaces, and a strain (চাপ) on the drainage systems (নিকাশী ব্যবস্থা). These problems not only hamper (বিঘ্ন ঘটায়) the daily lives of the citizens but also pose a threat (হুমকি) to the environment (পরিবেশ) and public safety (সর্বজনীন নিরাপত্তা). I believe strict building regulations (কঠোর ভবন বিধি) should be enforced (বলবৎ করা উচিত) and authorities should ensure proper planning (যথাযথ পরিকল্পনা) before any new project is undertaken. Green zones (সবুজ অঞ্চল) must be preserved (সংরক্ষণ করা উচিত) and efficient drainage systems should be put in place to reduce flooding (বন্যা কমাতে)। I hope this matter (বিষয়টি) is taken seriously (গুরুত্বের সাথে গ্রহণ করা হবে) and necessary action is taken to maintain (রক্ষা করতে) the city's balance (শহরের ভারসাম্য).
